i dont go to school, but at uni if you look at anything 'naughty' then you get an email from them telling you off, as my housemate found out when we were doing our same sex marriage coursework and she clicked on the wrong kind of link if you know what i mean!

At my old school they blocked profile sites like faceparty and facewhore after about 6 months of us constantly logging onto profile sites.
They also blocked message boards at some point during the last year I was there. Also any sites with remotely sexual words of words remotely emotive. lol. Hotmail was blocked, until they realised the teachers used it to email their students homework and visa versa.

Pretty much anything remotely fun is blocked, especially if it has "game" anywhere in the address. Thesite isn't blocked though, woo.

If you're playing on games at my school you can be excluded. And its likely you will get caught, as they've recently paid £2k for some software that logs everything. If you type 'f u c k' consequtively it will take a screenshot of what you're doing and send it to the admin. If the word 'game' appears on a webpage, same happens. So basically, my school has gone control freak crazy. They excluded a student for a day already cos he was playing on net games. Really, it should be the teacher who should be excluded, as its their class, and I think most people know that in some classes nobody really goes on games / random stuff and in others everyone does.

Oh and also they've just blocked all the email websites too, so you can only use the schools mailserver, which doesnt actually work because EMBC just burnt down. So we're all back to floppy disk land (the usb ports are locked out incase you bring a virus on a usb stick) -> but bear in mind not all the computers in the school actually have floppy drives, only the old ones.

The amount of websites that are categorised as 'criminal skills website' at our school is funny for example: http://www.shakespeare.com/

My old school used to try to block hotmail but we used to over-ride it withing a few minutes of their latest method.

There was a standard censorship thing on the school computer system but it used to block useful sites like Tutor2U economics website but allow dodgy rude things through!
