eat drink and be merry ...for tommorow we may die?

is there any point in being environmentaly aware/
china are building a million coal fired power stations a day ...
prince charles tells of his concerns about your generation and the environment ...he says it's urgent we all learn adapt and change out lifestyles ...then hires a jumbo jet ...which will pump out 750 tons of co2 ...instead of changing and adapting and settling for first class.
if the prince of nothingness is one of our guides and guardians ...and china are accelerating like nothing ever before seen ...whats the point\\\\\\\\\?

Because, despite China's terrible actions... the USA is still far worse.

Let's face it - The Rich couldn't care less, it makes them richer. And everyone else isn't powerful enough to change a thing. The people who could change it - see it making them money. And thats where care stops.

I personally believe there is very little we can do to alter global warming, if indeed we are responsible for it.

Not just China, but the entire developing world is, and will be for a long time yet, reliant on fossil fuels for its industry. I think until technology is advanced enough to replace fossil fuels, we have no right to clip their wings by pushing up world prices with taxation and supply limitation.

Having said that, we should be investing much much more in cleaner fuels simply because they are sustainable.

All we know for sure is that our atmosphere is changing at an ever alarming rate. Actually.

Not just the developing world. Most of the developed world be be up the creek if there were sudenly no fossil fuels. Shops would be empty. Power blackouts. Industry halted.

The change is going to take decades.

and i think all our science points to the fact when you add a million tons a minute of a chemical or gas to something else ...changes will be observed.

our climate is changing ...if it's nowt to do with us ...then there realy is nothing to do about it ...so whats the point in the face of the realities before us ...of cutting anything back?
lets go hell for leather ...which is what we are doing at an ever accelerating rate ...lets rejoice that kyoto was an april fools joke and celebrate a million coal fired power stations a day being built in china?
