FA Cup semifinals

Apparently people are complaining about having to travel to Cardiff for this with some saying it should have been at a neutral ground like Elland Rd due to distance need for hotels etc

FA are saying Cardiff has the biggest capacity and more people can go.

Your thoughts?

Cardiff is a neutral venue, and it is a big venue.

Seems fair enough to me.

Why not ship everyone off to Paris and play it in Stade De France, or another foreign stadium like Nou Camp which is even bigger?

Cardiff is a fair venue, it's neutral and big. I don't see the problem with it. Plus it's a great trip for the fans and supporters.

Just another erosion of the tradition.

Sadly I understand that this will be the standard from now on, Wembley is supposed to host all future semis.

Cardiff hotels are apparently tripling their prices that weekend. I'd hate to think what it costs to support Man U or Arsenal if you were really dedicated.

weren't the semis played at Wembley all the way back in 1992, too?

Six years ago the semis were played at Wembley.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, myself. Bellend Road is the most logical other neutral venue, and it is half the size of the Millennium Stadium.

Can you imagine 20,000 Man U fans, 20,000 Newcastle fans and 500,000 Leeds fans in the same place at the same time?!

1 semi-final was played at wembly that season because it was sheffield united vs sheffield wedensday but they had to appeal to have it played there.

The smeis should be played at two neutral venues like Villa Park and St Marys, the FA Cup is losing its godd traditional values.

The trouble with most "neutral" venues is that they simply aren't big enough. Elland Road holds 38,000 people, which is half as much as Cardiff just about.

The only sensible neutral venue for this tie, in terms of capacity, is at the Stadium of Light. And I doubt that would be a popular choice...

They bolted some more seats in then.

But still. Sunderland's ground holds 50,000. Odd how MUSA aren't petitioning for it to be held there.

I think the demand is there for 60,000, just for the Southern Man U day trippers.
