Toll Roads are a "blight on the economy"
Story.
Say what? I can understand the basic logic of it, and to an extent I agree with it, but just...eh? Sometimes there isn't an option but to pay it- the Mersey Tunnel and the Skye Road Bridge in particular- but generally you can go around. And what's wrong with that? Road tax is so high that we shouldn't have to pay extra on top, certainly not just to get from one side of town to the other, but then again- there's plenty of public transport. Next to the Tyne Tunnel there is a ferry that runs every 30 minutes, and there's a bus through the tunnel every 30 minutes, making it every 15 minutes a service. It's the same in Merseyside. I'm not sure what my point is any more. Any ideas? |

Sometimes ou've got no choice (the two Severn bridges) and the only alternative is a 150 mile trek through Gloustershire........
Supply and demand I guess but £4.50 a car is a a bit steep.

but if they hadnt have built the form of crossing, then you wouldnt have it anyway, so paying whatever for it is probably better than not having it
