Am I the only one who thinks it doesn't look that great a film?

The more footage I see the more I think it's going to disappoint. Sure the graphics and all look great, but when the real people start intervening in the CG action it looks a little...stunted. I've seen some sequences with dialogue and to be honest it's hardly sparkling writing.

I don't know. Story-wise it seems pretty obvious that it's going to be another "invader goes native" flick. Methinks besides the visuals, we'll have seen it all before.

I saw a trailer and thought that the hype surrounding it, didn't match the dullness I saw. Given that a trailer is supposed to be an advert showing you why you should pay to see it (incluing the extra bit for 3D glasses) I was massively underwealmed.

Won't be rushing to see it.

James Cameron's been wanting to make this movie for years - and he's such a perfectionist, it's hard to believe he'd let it be disappointing!

I'm very interested in the movie and will most likely go and see it in the first weekend.

It looks like the best looking CG film since Advent Children came out on bluray, that said i dont think it will be the best film of the decade or anything like that, especially since the story is just "Fergully: The last rainforest" thats been repackaged

Heres hoping Cameron gets his mojo working for this film, it cost £300 million to make and it would be sad to go another god knows how long without another decent cg movie because 'they dont make money.'

In general the movie industry, TV and even music industry are in one of those phases where they release nothing but totally uninspired films with weak storylines (lol surrogates) or remakes of old films.
2012 was one of the biggest dissapointments ive watched since Hidalgo, with a chance to give a message to people they chose to have a CG wank over everything and it was sad

Someone told me last night that Avatar was basically Pocahontas in 3D.

It's been referred to as Ferngully in Space and Smurfahontas.

Still haven't decided whether to go although MoK jnr v1.0 thought it was great...

I wtahced it last night and although it is basicly the plot of Ferngully the acting is fantastic!
I was incredibly surprised by just how good this movie was, they wrote a cohesive and absorbing story, a script that does not come out with cheesy lines about saving the forest and a feeling that they wrote the story first before they decided to make it a CG movie.

It would have been much better if we didnt have a bunch of fucking kids behind us talking ALL THE WAY through the movie, and their mother talking back to them and despite us asking them to be quiet twice they didnt.

the trailers did not do the movie justice. it was pretty fantastic. i'm just not sure it will hold up when viewing on a home television.

I didn't think there could be a worse movie than Titanic, but congrats to James Cameron he's done it again. Great effects, but frankly the most boring and predicatble film I've seen - My Little Pony cartoons are better. Do yourselves a favour and watch paint dry instead...

Flashman - My Little Pony is actually quite a big craze even with adults. I only know that because I know someone who makes customs and goes to various events. Although I'm no fan of MLP myself, I know that the cult will stick around like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles etc, and it'll be decades, not years.

Judging by what I've read though, I think that Avatar will sink faster than Titanic and it's not even a boat :-D lol
