Is before always better than after?

I was just thinking about this like;

It just seems the anticipation of anything - Christmas, birthdays, something you ordered from the internet - is almost always better than afterwards when it's actually there and you have stuff. Life is another example. When you're young you wish you were older so you could do loads of stuff, but when you're older you've got less stuff to look forward to.

A few years ago I went through a rethinking of my life stage (lol, at 15 - typical teenage melodrama) and it was really refreshing thinking of a new start and casting off 'old' crap. Well, it went quite well, and my life has been headed in a better direction ever since. But now it's just boring. There's not enough drama!

So is it just me who thinks life is only really good when things aren't perfect, because it gives you something to strive for?

Look at me, am I actually moaning about life being too easy?

Can't wait til next year at uni, hopefully can get meself into some spots of bother

Life is excellent when inside the womb. You don't have to eat your own food, you don't have to pay any heating bills, you don't have to work, you have no responsibilities. It's when you're born that you find out life is pretty shit.

If you are dreading things then usually it's better after than before.

I think the anticipation can be exciting in itself, which makes you feel like things will be amazing but when it arrives you feel let down because it was nothing compared to all the anticipation or the excpectation of it.

That's why unplanned nights out are always the best, because you had no anticipation or expectations.

Thats my opinion anyway.
