John Terry - England Captain

So most of us were wrong...
Not Gerrard, but Terry...

Good decision? Bad decision?
I think he'll do all right.

I didn't like the way he went about getting it. Arse-licking and desperation.

I would have went for the more humble Gerrard.

I'm sure JT will do alright though.

end of the day a captain leads by example on the pitch, Terry will do that so gets the job in my opinion.

I'd have gone with Gerrard personally, he leads by example and can also influence a game much more than Terry and when the likes of Gerrard take a game by the scruff of the neck it inspires everyone around him, he can still do this obviously but I think it would have a lot more significance if he was captain.

I think he'll do a good job; was pretty surprised though, Gerrard seemed to be a dead cert... shows how much I know

I'm pleased it is Terry. He will show strength and leading from the defence is probably the best place because you can see all other 9 outfield players infront of you and he can definately bark the orders.

And I maintain that with the club captains of four of the top five Premiership clubs playing for England, it does not make any difference who wears the armband out on the field.

I would have given it to Gerrard, but its not really very important.
